This is not a government website and has no affiliation with the Winnebago County Sheriff, Winnebago County Jail, Illinois Department of Corrections, or another public agency.
The site organizes public-source guidance and may connect visitors with outside search services. It cannot release a person, confirm live custody, change a record, or speak for a court or corrections office.
Acceptable Use
Use must be lawful and must not disrupt the site or harm others. Users may not attempt unauthorized access, introduce malicious code, scrape or copy content at scale, impersonate another person, interfere with service, or use information to harass, threaten, discriminate, or violate privacy and record-access limits.
FCRA-Prohibited Uses
This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Its content and partner results may not be used for credit, employment, insurance, tenant screening, or any other FCRA-covered eligibility decision. Users are responsible for understanding and following all laws that apply to their purpose.
Outside Links and Services
Links may point to Winnebago release records, Sheriff or corrections sites, courts, legal resources, and outside search providers. A link is not an endorsement. The site does not control a destination’s content, uptime, security, or data practices, and users should review that provider’s terms and privacy policy.
No Warranties
Everything is supplied “as is” and “as available.” No warranty is made that content is accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that a partner search will be thorough. Custody and public records can change quickly. Nothing published here is an official statement from the Sheriff, court, IDOC, PRB, BOP, or ICE.
Limits on Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site and its operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or other damages arising from access, inability to access, reliance on information, use of an outside service, or action taken from a search result.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold the site and its operators harmless from claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable legal fees arising from your use, misuse, violation of law, infringement of another person’s rights, or breach of these terms.
Ownership of Site Material
Original text, graphics, logos, layout, and code belong to Winnebago County Released Inmates or its content partners unless stated otherwise. They may not be copied, republished, distributed, sold, or modified without written permission, apart from uses allowed by law.
Changes and Access
These terms may be updated at any time, with the new version effective when posted. Access may also be suspended, limited, or revoked at any time, for any reason, without prior notice. Continued use after a revision means acceptance of the revised terms.
Illinois Law and Severability
Illinois law governs these terms, and disputes must be brought in a court with proper jurisdiction in Illinois. Where public-record access is discussed, Illinois FOIA, 5 ILCS 140, governs public bodies. If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, it will be adjusted only as necessary and the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
